London Lettering is a self-initiated lettering project that shows appreciation towards the areas of London where I grew up creating more than a decade of memories.
A local event’s magazine are promoting London’s most attractive areas and wanted a set of typography-led illustrations to go along with it. The illustrations needed to reflect the liveliness and energy of London’s nightlife.
Heavily influenced by the Christmas lights installed every year during the festive season, I imagined the illustrations floating like a bubble in each area. The effect was achieved using Photoshop’s blend modes, layer styles and the soft brush tool.
